Never Forget

Do you remember where you were on September 11, 2001? Do you remember what you were thinking and feeling? Do you remember what you were afraid of, afraid for? Do you remember who you wanted to be with, who you wanted to call, who you wanted to embrace? Do you remember the bravery, the heroism, the patriotism?

Pause for a moment of reflection. Fly your flag. Give a loved one an extra hug. Call your mom. Kiss your kids. Praise God for simple blessings. Thank a hero. Never forget.

Here in Argentina, 9/11 is Teacher's Day so we had the day off. AND got presents! WOO HOO!!
On a more serious note, I was at school when our principal uncharacteristically got on the loudspeaker and called us to the gym. One of the kids said to me as we were walking out, "I know what happened." I said, "You do?" He said, "Yeah, a plane hit a building." This was just after Bob Collins crashed his plane on the top of a building in Chicago. He was killed in the crash, but that was the extent of it. I thought, "What's the big deal? We're meeting about a plane crash??" I had no idea!
